The heart of a community
The heart of a community
10 December 2013
With few other community facilities around, Mangawhai Beach School is the local heart.
It’s the centre for socialising and community activities, and now, thanks to a grant from the Harcourts Foundation, it will serve as a movie night venue.
A donation of $2,000 has been given to purchase a projector to show outdoor movies during the warmer months.
Principal Aaron Kemp says Mangawhai is quite isolated and it will be a real addition to the community to be able to meet together for movie and picnic nights.
It will also be a way for the school to raise further money for the purchase of equipment and other necessities.
“We are really thrilled with this donation and, in a small town like ours, it is greatly appreciated. Thank you to the Harcourts team.”
Nick Langdon and Colin Hair, of Harcourts Tandem Realty, own the nearby real estate office and are pleased to be able to contribute to the community who supports them.
