Subject: Summerdaze Ignites the Queenstown Lakes District
Summer festivities in the
Queenstown Lakes District will be ignited with fireworks in
both Queenstown and Wanaka on New Year’s Eve, as the
month-long Summerdaze Festival returns to entertain locals
and visitors alike.
With live music, markets, sports galore, kids’ events, outdoor movies and more, Summerdaze offers something to suit every taste, QLDC Arts and Events Coordinator Jan Maxwell says.
“I know people will be excited to see the amazing range of activities included in this year’s Summerdaze programme. Some of the old favourites are back, like the Teddy Bears’ Picnic in Wanaka and Big Picnic at Remarkables Park for kids, and the ever popular outdoor movie nights; and we’ve also introduced new events including a special celebration of the Chinese New Year, which will be a wonderful addition to the summer in Arrowtown.
“This summer will be a lively time in the Queenstown Lakes District, and whatever your preferences in activities and entertainment, there are Summerdaze events that will put an extra zing into your holidays,” Jan Maxwell says.
Summerdaze runs from 31 December 2013 until 31 January 2014. The programme hits the streets this week, with copies delivered to every household and available at iSites and information centres. Full details are also on the Summerdaze website www.summerdaze.co.nz
