Entertainment galore at Christmas in Cornwall Park
Entertainment galore at Christmas in Cornwall Park
Family fun returns to Hastings with the 2013 edition of Christmas in Cornwall Park.
The annual event, to be held on Sunday 15th December is a celebration of the festive season with a Family Fun Day from 3pm till 6pm followed by Community Christmas Carols.
Creative Hastings Community Arts Advisor, Pitsch Leiser says “Christmas in the Park has become an important event for all the community. It will be the 128th time that carols have been held in the park at Christmas. We have changed the music lineup for this year but there will still be the traditional carol singing that everyone enjoys. Christmas in Cornwall Park will again be a fun afternoon and evening of entertainment with a focus on creating a great Christmas atmosphere.”
The Family Fun Day includes loads of entertainment for the kids, with Santa making an appearance at around 5pm. Main stage entertainment will include the ever popular Rag Tag Scoobie Doobie Good Time Band, Devils Elbow and The Flukes.
Christmas Carols will begin at 6pm with the Story of Christmas told by David Berry. The Hawke’s Bay Community Choir, Four’s Company and Joe Christensen and friends will perform and The Deco Bay Napier Port Brass Band will provide the backing for the carol singing.
During Christmas in Cornwall Park, the winner of the “Where is Santa’s Reindeer” competition will be announced. The competition encourages kids of all ages to listen to Classic Hits 89.5 from Wednesday December 4th (between 8am & 8.30am) for clues as to where Santa’s Reindeer are hiding around Hastings. Entry forms are available from Hastings and Havelock North i-SITES, Santa’s wonderland in Hastings City Centre and K Mart.
Completed entry forms should be placed in a specially marked box at Christmas in the Park by 5pm on Sunday 15th December and all the correct entries will go in the draw to win a brand new bike from K Mart.
