WYNYARD CHRISTMAS QUARTER -
PUTTING THE MAGIC BACK INTO DECEMBER
Ode
to a waterfront Christmas
A new Christmas tradition
for Auckland is being created at Wynyard Quarter this
year,
as the area becomes a one stop shop for festive
cheer.
From Christmas trees, to outdoor Christmas movies
there’s so much in store,
it’ll be hard to resist the
kiddies demands to visit the waterfront once more.
The
ARTVent project will no doubt stimulate artistic
conversation,
while the Angel wishing tree allows one to
donate to the Auckland City Mission.
But the piece de
resistance and a true yuletide treat,
is news that Santa
will be upping sticks and moving to his Silo Park summer
retreat.
It all kicks off from 6 December,
and sure to
be a Christmas the little ones will remember.
Full details
are provided below,
so go on write up something and be a
jolly good journo.
ASB Santa's
Bach
Santa and his elves have decided to ditch
the cold and join us for a kiwi Christmas. Starting Friday
December 6, children of all ages will be able to take a free
tour through Santa’s customised Kiwiana ASB Santa's Bach
and journey through four highly interactive and unique
spaces.
Unlike the times children have met Santa in a
shopping mall, ASB Santa’s Bach embraces the true spirit
of Christmas by asking families to BRING a present for
Santa.
Santa will then distribute these presents using
the Auckland City Mission - making sure no one goes without
this holiday season. A fully immersive experience for kids
of all ages, ASB Santa’s Bach will put any 9 year old
Santa-doubters firmly back in the land of
belief.
Bach Opening Hours
6 to 24
December. Thursdays; 5pm – 9pm, Fridays; 3pm – 9pm,
Sat/Sun; 10am-6pm
NB: Santa is a busy man – there will
be times where he’ll have to take off with his elves to do
some Christmas errands of his owns we advise visiting
www.yourwaterfront.co.nz/christmas before you make the
special journey down to see Santa.
