Closure to CHCH Women’s Hospital main entrance foyer
The main entrance foyer at Christchurch Women’s Hospital will be closed for about a week from 6.30pm tomorrow (October 24) to allow for earthquake repairs.
Wayne Lawson, Canterbury District Health Board Facilities Redevelopment Manager, says there will be no access to the building from the main entrance during this time.
“It will be business as usual for all clinical services within Christchurch Women’s Hospital but visitors and patients to the hospital will need to use the lower ground floor rear entrance while this work is under way,” Mr Lawson says.
Access to the main entrance of Christchurch Women’s foyer area and the stairwell opposite will be closed as this will be a construction zone from 6.30pm tomorrow night (October 24) to 6am next Wednesday (October 30).
“We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes but it is just another step towards completing the extensive earthquake repair schedule our hospital facilities have faced since February 22,” Mr Lawson says.
“We are very grateful to patients, their families, visitors and staff for their cooperation during this time.”
The main reception and café facilities will also be relocated to the lower ground floor during this time and traffic controllers and security will be onsite around the hospital to direct people where to go.
