No Change After Special Votes in Porirua Election

NO CHANGE AFTER SPECIAL VOTES IN PORIRUA ELECTION

After adding special votes to the final tally, the Registrar of Electors confirmed today the new Council for Porirua City.
The final results are: Nick Leggett (Mayor), Euon Murrell, Anita Baker, Tim Sheppard, Bronwyn Kropp (Northern Ward), ‘Ana Coffey, Ken Douglas (Western Ward), Izzy Ford, Luafataalii Litea Ah Hoi, John Burke, Denys Latham.
Incumbent Councillors Faafoi Seiuli (Eastern Ward) and Liz Kelly (Western Ward) were not returned.
The Mayor and Councillors will be sworn in at an inaugural meeting in the Spine at Pataka on 29 October 2013. The next day they will meet to set the date for the first ordinary meeting of the Council.

Nick Leggett is declared elected.
The final absolute majority of votes (final quota) as determined at the last iteration was 6,417. There were 21 informal votes and 333 blank votes.

BAKER Anita elected
SHEPPARD Tim Independent elected
KROPP Bronwyn Independent elected
COLLINS Brian Acting to Reduce Costs excluded

The final absolute majority of votes (final quota) as determined at the last iteration was 1,189.56. There were 20 informal votes and 174 blank votes.

The voter return was 36.05%, being 13,007 voting papers, excluding special votes.
