Water Receding But Council on
Stand-by for Tonight
The rain has stopped allowing the water levels that have been causing problems around the Ruapehu district including flooding in Ohakune to start to recede.
Ruapehu District Council (RDC) has stood down the Welfare Centre in the Ohakune Primary School hall at this time.
The MET Service has forecast further rainfall for tonight and so Ruapehu District Council will be keeping a close watch on the situation.
RDC staff will remain on stand-by and will reactivate the EOC if the situation demands.
Council is asking Ruapehu residents to phone in any flooding or other storm related issues to 0800 123 RDC (732)
