Creative Communities funding opens

Palmerston North City Council would like to advise that the Creative Communities Local Arts Funding Scheme is now accepting applications.

The scheme is for arts groups and individuals and aims to support projects that encourage local people to participate in arts related activities.

In a change from previous years, the fund will be now be allocated in three funding rounds per year with applications able to be made for up to $5000. There will no longer be alternate rounds with a limit of $2000 as in previous years. The total amount of funding available remains the same.

Adrian Turner fund administrator says people used to applying to the lower limit rounds through Community Arts Council need to be aware of the change.

“There is now one place to apply for requests big or small and an additional opportunity to apply during the year.”

Each round sees funding requested for a wide variety of projects. Successful projects in the last year include painting exhibitions, public murals, arts festivals and theatre productions. All applications will be considered.

Applications are available on 356 8199, Customer Service Centre, city libraries, at pncc.govt.nz or adrian.turner@pncc.govt.nz .

Applications close on Monday 4th November at 4pm.
