Chief Executive remuneration statement
Christchurch City Council has acknowledged that Acting
Chief Executive Jane Parfitt should be remunerated for her
additional responsibilities.
However, the level of the remuneration will be decided by the incoming Council. Mrs Parfitt has been the Council’s Acting Chief Executive since 4 July this year.
Council voted unanimously today that the State Services Commission be approached to suggest an independent consultant to advise Council on appropriate remuneration and all associated arrangements.
At its meeting today in public excluded, the Council acknowledged and thanked Mrs Parfitt for stepping up to the role of Acting Chief Executive in these difficult times and also recognised the additional significant responsibilities that she has taken on.
The Council has no further comment on this matter.
