The ‘Breast Workout’ Ever
cityfitness ride-a-thon raising money for a cure

On *Saturday 9th November cityfitness clubs across New Zealand will be hosting The ‘Breast’ Ride Ever Ride-a-thon to raise funds to support the Breast Cancer Research Trust (BCRT). The event will comprise of four consecutive Group Ride classes running from *8.30am – 12.30pm across eight cities New Zealand wide. With over 1,100 riders expected, each paying $10 to book a bike for 1 hour and each participant potentially getting sponsored, total fundraising efforts should exceed $18,000 with 100% of proceeds going to BCRT.

‘cityfitness is proud to partner once again with BCRT on what is our largest scale event to date to raise money for a cause that is, unfortunately, so close to home for many of our members and their families’ says cityfitness Director of Group Fitness and Programming Allyson Donnelly. ‘we see the power of health and fitness every day inside our clubs and events such as this one illustrate how this power can manifest itself in the communities around our clubs as well.’

Large scale events will be happening in Auckland, Hamilton, Napier, Palmerston North, Wellington, Nelson and Christchurch with cityfitness taking the bikes out in to public spaces to help raise the profile of the event and the cause.

Breast Cancer Research Trust General Manager, Phillipa Green, comments, “This is the fourth consecutive year that a large scale event has been held by cityfitness to raise money for a very worthy cause – raising over $45,000 from the last three years. And this year will only increase fundraising with added outdoor events in most main centres. As our goal of finding a cure for breast cancer by 2018 gets closer it’s fundraising like this that will get us there.”
