Trail rider airlifted to hospital
This afternoon the Tauranga based TrustPower TECT Rescue helicopter was called out to a trail ride event near Pongakawa where a 25 year old Mt Maunganui man had fallen from his bike at speed, the motorbikes handle bars struck the man in the abdomen during the crash. He was flown to Tauranga hospital in a moderate condition with abdominal injuries.
