Police release name of Opunake homicide victim

Police can now name the 37-year-old man who was fatally stabbed at his property in Opunake early this morning.
He was Desroe Bishop from Opunake.
The 33-year-old man who was arrested in relation to Mr Bishop’s death has now been charged with murder and will appear in the New Plymouth District Court tomorrow.
The scene examinations at the two properties cordoned off earlier in the day are ongoing.
Police seek the support of media in respecting the privacy of the Bishop family at this difficult time.
Police have no further comment to make at this stage.
