Wanaka Foreshore Reserve Management Plan – Media Advisory
The council is seeking input into a new reserve management plan for all Council reserves along the Lake Wanaka foreshore.
“We’ve received many applications for various structures and activities along Lake Wanaka and rather than preparing a plan for each reserve, it makes sense to manage the foreshore holistically in delivering on the long term community aspirations for the area,” said General Manager Operations Ruth Stokes.
The area included all council reserves along Lake Wanaka from Glendhu Bay to the Outlet Camp, including the Glendhu Bay camping ground and Wanaka Station Park.
“We’re holding a drop-in session at the Lake Wanaka Centre on Thursday 5 September from 4.30-5.30pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and provide ideas,” Mrs Stokes said.
Suggestions for inclusions in the draft reserve management plan should be with the Council by Friday 13 September.
