Waikato women are invited to a free seminar on pain management
Pain of varying types is the most common symptom of endometriosis, yet many women are unsure of best practice for
managing this disabling symptom.
Hamilton-based community organisation Insight Endometriosis, is hosting a free Pain Management seminar on Wednesday
night (from 7pm) to provide up-to date evidence-based information.
At the seminar women will learn about the processes that cause different types of pain, relevant treatment options and
complementary therapies.
Educator Annette Evans said “as well as information about pain medications, we take a holistic approach to pain
management. We enable women to make informed decisions about treatment options to improve every-day life and long-term
wellbeing.”
The seminar is part of a comprehensive education programme which includes free monthly seminars, night classes and
individual education appointments.
Insight Endometriosis also offer community support and awareness programmes. “It’s important that women and their
families aren’t left facing a significant health problem in isolation”, said Annette.
