Homicide investigation begins in Kaitaia
Police have begun a homicide inquiry after a 28-year-old woman died when she was run over by a vehicle on Pukepoto Road, Kaitia around 10pm last night.
The woman was initially transported to Kaitaia hospital with serious injuries and then transferred to Whangarei hospital where she died earlier this morning.
Police believe they have located the vehicle involved and are now carrying out a forensic examination of the vehicle.
Police want to hear from anyone with information who may have seen or heard anything on Pukepoto Road and Grigg Street around 10pm last night.

It is expected further details will be released this afternoon.
