Police credit public for missing Waikato girl being found safe and well
Waikato Police are thanking members of the public for their assistance in the successful locating of a missing Te Aroha girl in Hamilton this morning.
Acting Eastern Waikato Area Commander, Inspector Earle McIntosh, said 15-year-old Abethy (known as Abbey) Dalice GIBSON was found safe and well in the Hamilton suburb of Forest Lake shortly before 10am today.
"She has been brought back to the Hamilton Central Police Station where she will be checked out to ascertain she is ok but at this point all indications are she is safe and well.
"Over the past two days Police have been assisted by several members of the public who have reported sighting of Abbey following coverage of her disappearance in the media and we would just like to thank those people and the news outlets for profiling her predicament."
