New board appointment for Regional Facilities Auckland

Auckland Mayor Len Brown has welcomed the appointment of Geoff Clews to the board of Regional Facilities Auckland (RFA).

Geoff’s appointment was made at Auckland Council’s CCO Strategy Review Subcommittee on 7 August 2013.

“Geoff has had a long history in the arts arena and will bring this breadth of knowledge to the RFA board,” says Len Brown. “Geoff has chaired the Bruce Mason Centre, been a director of Q Theatre and over the years has generously given his time and expertise to a range of community cultural organisations.”

“Geoff also brings considerable experience in the legal, financial and taxation fields, especially in commercial governance, all most important these days,” adds Sir Don McKinnon, Chair of RFA.

Geoff Clews will join the RFA board on 1 November 2013 following the retirement of Derek Dallow.

The Council’s CCO Strategy Review Subcommittee is responsible for all board appointments to substantive council-controlled organisations (CCOs).
