New board appointment for Watercare Services Limited
Auckland Mayor Len Brown has welcomed the appointment of Julia Hoare to the board of Watercare Services Limited (WSL).
Julia Hoare will join the WSL board on 1 November 2013 following the retirement of Jeff Todd.
Ms Hoare’s appointment was confirmed at Auckland’s Council’s CCO Strategy Review Subcommittee on 7 August 2013.
“Julia has a breadth of positive experiences working with elected representatives as an adviser to both parliament and government, demonstrating a strong knowledge in areas of sustainability, emissions trading, environmental and social issues,” says Mayor Len Brown.
“Julia’s high level of financial, strategic and commercial knowledge across a broad range of sectors will further diversify the existing expertise of the Watercare Board,” adds Ross Keenan, Chairman of Watercare Services Limited.
Mr Keenan also paid tribute to Mr Todd saying he has done an outstanding job as a director.
The council’s CCO Strategy Review Subcommittee is responsible for all board appointments to substantive council-controlled organisations (CCOs).
