Fatal accident in Piako District
Eemergency Services are on the scene of a fatal crash at the intersection of SH26 and Lovegrove Rd on the outskirts of
Te Aroha in the Matamata -Piako District. A car with a single male occupant carried on across the T-intersection and
crashed into a ditch.
The car was located by police just after midnight while they were on their way to a different incident. The driver has
been confirmed dead by ambulance staff.
The intersection will be closed while the Serious Crash Unit examine the scene. Diversions are in place.
