2013 Cans4Films Festival – Your community needs you: head down to your local Network Video Hornby or Papanui store in August and donate a can
This August, Network Video Hornby and Papanui are teaming up with Ronald McDonald House Christchurch to do all they can to collect cans of food to help those in need.
Free stress care… childhood illness… free family support… hospital care… Ronald McDonald House’s work in the community can’t be underestimated. They extend a helping hand to the numerous families that knock on their doors, reaching out for help and support.
During August, Network Video Hornby and Papanui will lend a helping hand by collecting nutritious cans of food from their customers. All cans donated will be passed onto Ronald McDonald House Christchurch to help the families staying there while their children receive the medical treatment that they need to recover.
Together, these two Network Video stores and Ronald McDonald House will shine a light on the need to support these families struggling to cope. Most importantly, assisting these families leaves them to focus on their ill family member.
Helping is simply – to make life a little less stressful for these struggling Kiwis, customers can donate a can of food at your local Network Video store and score a free weekly rental in return. If consumers donate two cans, they’ll receive three free weeklies. Consumers are treated to a great night’s entertainment for free while gaining the added satisfaction that you’ve helped the struggling families staying at Ronald McDonald House.
If customers don’t bring a can in-store with them or aren’t sure about what foods are suitable, they can donate a gold coin instead. This gold coin will then be used to purchase a can of food for someone who really needs it.
Cans4Films proves that making a difference doesn’t have to be expensive – for less than a cup of coffee, you can provide a meal for these families that need our support so that they can focus on their sick family members.
“All of us at Network Hornby and Papanui are proud to be part of the Cans4Films Festival in 2013,” Nigel Maynard, the owner of both Network Papanui and Hornby said.
“We are very proud to be working alongside such a great charity in Ronald McDonald House as we know that they provide great support and relief to families in need."
