New Kaikoura Tourism Manager Appointment

Media Release: Kaikoura Information & Tourism Inc (KITI)

Thursday 8th August 2013

New Kaikoura Tourism Manager Appointment

Over the last 12 months Kaikoura Information & Tourism Inc (KITI) has been working closely with the Kaikoura District Council (KDC) to review and implement improvements to the delivery of tourism services for the Kaikoura District.

A lot of time and effort has been put in by both organisations to develop a starting point we can build on says KITI spokeswoman board member Lynette Buurman, this has culminated in the successful appointment of Mr Glenn Ormsby to the newly developed position of Kaikoura Tourism Manager.

KITI is fortunate to have attracted someone of Glenn’s calibre to this position, Glenn brings a wealth of regional tourism organisation and industry experience to the role which the board feels is fundamental to developing a robust foundation for what is a completely new direction for tourism delivery in Kaikoura.

In a lot of ways Glenn will have a blank canvass which is both exciting and challenging says Lynette Buurman, the board is looking forward to working closely with him over the next 3 years.

Glenn Ormsby is currently the Tourism Development Manager for Sunshine Coast Tourism in Australia and will be looking to take up his new role in Kaikoura in mid-September 2013, some of Glenn’s previous roles include:

- GM Tourism Bay of Plenty.

- GM Tourism Waitaki.

- GM Sales & Marketing Te Puia.

- GM Tourism Whitsundays.

- Regional Director NZ, Tourism Queensland
