‘Have Your Say’ on the Public Transport Network
Hawke’s Bay Regional Council is undertaking a review of the goBay public transport (bus) network which operates in Napier and Hastings.
Napier and Hastings residents are being invited to give some thought to what they would like the network to look like and to send their comments/suggestions to HBRC’s transport team by 27th September.
January to June saw an increase in passenger trips of 35,000 (10%) on the same period last year and HBRC is keen to improve on this trend by ensuring that it is meeting the travel demand needs of the public, within existing budget constraints.
Questions being asked include:
Do the existing routes meet your needs?
Does the current timetable meet your needs?
Are the bus fares reasonable?
Is it easy to find your nearest bus stop?
If you don’t use public transport, what would encourage you to travel by bus?
Feedback forms are available from bus drivers, public libraries, community newspapers (4th September edition), HBRC’s ‘Our Place ‘magazine, from Hawke’s Bay Regional Council at 159 Dalton Street Napier, or by phoning HBRC on 835 9200.
(Inter-city, long distance services, GPS and real-time information will not be included in this review).
