New i-SITE for Havelock North

Havelock North will soon have a new i-SITE, following Hastings District Council purchase of the existing Visitor Information Centre business in the centre of the village.

Promotions and Marketing Portfolio Leader, Cr Sandra Hazlehurst says “A new i-SITE will be created in the existing building and will be manned, full time by a trained i-SITE staff member. Havelock North is a significant gateway for tourists, and we believe that the development of a full service i-SITE will help further enhance the visitor experience.”

Cr Sandra Hazlehurst says “The new operation will extend our presence in the district, (from the existing i-SITE in Hastings) and will have a positive impact on local businesses in the tourism sector, as well as the wider economy.”

“Hastings District Council is committed to attracting visitors to the district and the high level of service that will be offered by our i-SITE staff in Havelock North will maximise the opportunities that are available to our visitors and support local businesses.”

The new i-SITE in Havelock North will open for business on Wednesday September 11th 2013.
