A chance to exhibit in high-profile Hamilton art gallery
30 july 2013
New Zealand-based artists and arts groups interested in holding an exhibition of their work at ArtsPost, Hamilton’s
high-profile retail art gallery have until 1 September to apply.
The three galleries in Hamilton’s beautifully restored former Post Office building, part of the Waikato Museum complex,
feature a lively calendar of exhibitions that change every five weeks. Waikato Museum Collections and Exhibitions
Manager Stephen Pennruscoe says this is an opportunity for artists and groups to take advantage of the gallery’s
location in the popular south end of Hamilton’s Victoria Street to show and sell their work.
“ArtsPost offers a high-profile space, high foot traffic and substantial sales and promotion opportunities. With three
galleries, visitors are assured of variety and we offer professional support for emerging artists and groups to show
their work to a captive audience.”
“We confirm submissions in October so that artists have ample opportunity to complete their work in time for their
allocated exhibition. It also means we can promote our exhibitions up to six months before they open,” said Mr
Pennruscoe.
Artists’ proposals are evaluated for quality, creativity and fit with the vision for the gallery. Exhibition submissions
for the period from January to December 2014 close on 1 September 2013. Proposal forms can be downloaded online from
www.waikatomuseum.co.nz/artspost and are available from ArtsPost Galleries & Shop, 120 Victoria Street Hamilton from 10.00am until 4.30pm daily.
