Local Government New Zealand today congratulated the Government on its allocation of $30 million to the Lottery Grants Board Significant Projects Fund.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon Chris Tremain, who is also the Minister of Local Government, announced the funding yesterday.
“This sizable fund will bring real and direct benefits to communities throughout New Zealand,” said LGNZ President, Lawrence Yule.
The Significant Projects Fund has previously supported Auckland Zoo, an educational facility at the Carter Observatory in Wellington and construction of Auckland’s Q Theatre among other projects.
