Statement from Mayor Bob Parker
At an Extraordinary Council meeting held this morning, 10 July 2013, Council unanimously voted to initiate an independent investigation in to the actions and knowledge of the Council’s Chief Executive Officer and management in relation to matters leading to the revocation of the Council’s accreditation as a Building Consent Authority.
The Council is holding another meeting on Monday 15 July at 9am and after this meeting more information about the terms of reference and who will undertake the investigation will be announced.
In the meantime the Chief Executive Officer continues to be on special leave. As this relates to an employment matter, no further comment will be made.
