Inspirational speakers for Leadership Week in Hastings
An inspiring group of guest speakers will take the stage in Hastings next week as part of Leadership Week 2013.
Leadership Week begins on Monday July 8th and finishes with Red Socks Day on Friday July 12th, when everyone is encouraged to wear red socks in support of the Sir Peter Blake Trust.
The week opens with the Women in Business breakfast, where BEL Group Business Manager Justine Kidd takes a fascinating look into the world of women in business. On Friday July 12th, one of the country’s leading scientists Sir Ray Avery will speak on “Growing Great New Zealanders” at the Mayoral Leadership Summit.
Hastings Mayor Lawrence Yule says “I am excited by the quality of the speakers at this year’s Leadership Week events. These influential people have all found a way of making a difference to the way we live our lives and I am sure their message will inspire all those who attend the seminars to achieve greater things in their own lives.”
Lawrence Yule says “It is also important that we honour the legacy that was left to this country by Sir Peter Blake. Sir Peter was enormously fond of wearing his red socks for good luck during Americas Cup campaigns and now red socks have become the symbol of Kiwi Spirit and pride. Wearing your red socks on Friday July 12th will help recognise the spirit that Sir Peter Blake showed during his life and showing support for the work of the Sir Peter Blake Trust.”
