Calling for Expressions of Interest for the District Licensing Committee Chairperson and List Members
With the recent creation of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, the Christchurch City Council is looking for people who have a passion about alcohol licensing matters.
The Council is asking for expressions of interest for people to join the soon-to-be-created District Licensing Committee(s) (DLCs) as Chairpersons/Commissioners and List Members.
The Council is looking for people who want to make a difference in Christchurch about alcohol licensing matters and the impact they have on our community, that have the ability to make quality decisions and a high level of professional integrity, and are strong communicators.
Those who are successful in the Chairpersons and List Members role will be responsible for making decisions on granting all alcohol licenses (including special licenses) and all managers’ certificate applications, renewals and temporary authorities in line with the criteria in the new Act.
Although technical guidance and training will be provided to ensure the new regulatory framework is well understood, there is specific criteria for those who wish to apply. To check out the eligibility criteria, see http://lgnz.co.nz/pdfs/Competency_Guidance_for_DLC_Members_June_13.pdf.
Apply online at www.cccjobs.co.nz or for further information contact Clayton Badland on 03 977 8584. Applications close Sunday 14 July 2013.
