Calling for Expressions of Interest for the District Licensing Committee Chairperson and List Members
With the recent creation of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, the Christchurch City Council is looking for people
who have a passion about alcohol licensing matters.
The Council is asking for expressions of interest for people to join the soon-to-be-created District Licensing
Committee(s) (DLCs) as Chairpersons/Commissioners and List Members.
The Council is looking for people who want to make a difference in Christchurch about alcohol licensing matters and the
impact they have on our community, that have the ability to make quality decisions and a high level of professional
integrity, and are strong communicators.
Those who are successful in the Chairpersons and List Members role will be responsible for making decisions on granting
all alcohol licenses (including special licenses) and all managers’ certificate applications, renewals and temporary
authorities in line with the criteria in the new Act.
Although technical guidance and training will be provided to ensure the new regulatory framework is well understood,
