Len Brown to host world famous Harvard Economist Edward Glaeser
Len Brown will host Harvard Economist and bestselling author of Triumph of the City, Professor Edward Glaeser as part of the Auckland Conversations series on Monday, 1 July.
“Edward Glaeser is a leading thinker on cities and their contribution to human endeavour,” says Len Brown.
“Professor Glaeser’s perspective on Auckland, and some of the key challenges we face, will be a valuable contribution to the debate on Auckland’s future.
“The growth of our city presents a major opportunity to improve our quality of life, enhance our productivity and add to the vibrancy of our communities.”

Professor Edward Glaeser
Professor Edward Glaeser is an internationally renowned speaker and frequent commentator on the economics of cities. In 2011 he authored the book Triumph of the City: How our Greatest Invention Makes Us Richer, Smarter, Greener, Healthier and Happier.
Following his talk, Professor Glaeser will be joined in a panel discussion with Deputy Mayor Penny Hulse, Motu Senior Fellow & Chair of the Reserve Bank Arthur Grimes, Professor Robert McCullough (The MSA charitable trust chair in Macro Economics).
The event is free, but people wishing to attend need to register on the Auckland Council website.
