Aldo Miccio Announces Educational Grant for Victory Boxing
Aldo Miccio has announced he will provide a personal grant to help facilitate educational opportunities for promising children at Victory Boxing in Nelson.
The grant announcement follows Miccio’s participation in the Fight for Victory boxing tournament, a charity event held in Nelson last weekend to raise funds for Victory Boxing.
Miccio says the educational grant is his personal way of giving back to the club, and will provide financial support to one child per year.
“I trained for thirteen weeks at Victory Boxing in the lead up to the Fight for Victory event, and I saw first-hand the positive impact the club provides for young kids in the community, in teaching them vital life skills not only in the area of fitness and health, but also fundamental topics such as discipline, goal setting, self-respect, and the importance of having a good education,” says Miccio.
“The annual grant is a practical way of expressing my personal gratitude to the club for the wonderful work they are doing in our community, and it will provide some financial support for the recipient in helping to further their educational future.”
Paul Hampton, Director/Trainer at Victory Boxing, says the grant will make a significant difference to the person who receives it.
“We want to help develop well rounded kids, and education is fundamental to their success, so Aldo's grant will help to provide support and educational opportunities for those children who meet the criteria."
The first recipient of the Aldo Miccio Educational Grant for Victory Boxing will be announced within the next few weeks. The grant will comprise of a one-off payment of one thousand dollars to assist with educational costs.
