Update: Banks Peninsula road closures and restrictions due to weather
conditions
Update as of 9am
Due to deteriorating weather conditions the following Banks Peninsula
roads remain closed or have vehicle restrictions until further notice:

Roads Closed
* Northern and Eastern Bay Roads - minor hill & rural roads
* Kinloch Road / Bossu Road
* Okains Bay Road - Duvauchelle to Okains Bay
* Southern Bays Roads - Magnet Bay to Lands End Road

Roads with vehicle restrictions - Only open to four-wheel drive vehicles
with chains.
* Little Akaloa Road
* Long Bay Road - Takamatua to Goughs Road
* Purau to Port Levy Road

Roads Open - Severe ice and grit
* Akaroa Summit Road, Hilltop to Pigeon Bay
* Akaroa Summit Road - Pigeon Bay to Little Akaloa
* Akaroa Summit Road, Little Akaloa to Okains Bay
* Le Bons Bay Road
* Akaroa Inner Harbour - minor hill & rural roads

Snow and hail has left slush on many of the roads. Some of the roads are
marked as closed as they have not been fully inspected fully yet.
Motorists are advised to take extreme care in the current conditions.
