Banks Peninsula road closures and restrictions due to weather conditions

Due to deteriorating weather conditions the following Banks Peninsula roads are closed or have vehicle restrictions until further notice:

Roads Closed
• Little Akaloa Road
• Akaroa Summit Road, Little Akaloa to Okains Bay
• Okains Bay Road – Duvauchelle to Okains Bay

Roads with vehicle restrictions – Only open to four-wheel drive vehicles with chains.
• Akaroa Summit Road – Okains Bay to Le Bons Bay
• Le Bons Bay Road
• Akaroa Summit Road – Le Bons Bay to Long Bay Road / Cabstand
• Long Bay Road – Takamatua to Goughs Road
• Akaroa Inner Harbour - minor hill & rural roads
• Northern and Eastern Bay Roads – minor hill & rural roads
• Kinloch Road / Bossu Road
• Southern Bays Roads – Magnet Bay to Lands End Road
• Little River to Gebbies Pass – minor rural roads
• SH 75/ Hilltop Road, Cooptown to Barrys Bay
• Purau to Port Levy Road
• Akaroa Summit Road, Hilltop to Pigeon Bay
• Pigeon Bay Road, Duvauchelle to Pigeon Bay
• Akaroa Summit Road – Pigeon Bay to Little Akaloa

Snow is falling in the area. There are snow ploughs and other snow clearing equipment on the road. Motorists are advised to take extreme care in the current conditions.
