Saturday 18th May - Every year the government's budget is announced and we have a squizz at it to see what's in it for Maori.Eruera Morgan speaks with political analystHenareKingi on Budget 2013, who tells us all about the good and bad things that Maori need to be aware of.
Sunday 19th May - The government is committed to spending nearly $20 million in this year’s budget on Charter Schools to establish them
in 2014.
Critics are saying Charter Schools are receiving money that should have gone into kura kaupapa and wharekura who for too
long have been under resourced. Eruera talks with Te UruroaFlavell from the Maori Party amid claims from the likes of the Mana Party's Hone Harawira, that as Nationals coalition partner
in government the Maori Party failed abysmally to advocate for kura kaupapa in this budget.
We also talk with Labour's Education spokespersonNanaiaMahuta who believes Charter schools will only harm the education system and believes more focus should have been placed on
Maori in mainstream schools
