Park Street parking

Park Street parking

17 May, 2013

Council is temporarily removing time restrictions on carparking in the Queenstown Gardens next week as it undertakes the resurfacing of the Park Street footpath.

The resurfacing work, which will take place from Monday 20 May to Thursday 23 May, means people will be unable to use the angle parking on the west side of Park Street. To ensure there is still a supply of free all day parking throughout the work period, Council has made the Queenstown Gardens carpark available.

QLDC transport manager Denis Mander says the move should lessen the impact on people who regularly park there.

“We are aware that the Park Street angle parks are popular with people who work in the CBD,” he said.

“We’ll be covering the signage in the Queenstown Gardens Carpark and parking officers will not be enforcing time restrictions other than on the mobility park and the no-parking areas.”

The area of Park Street affected by the resurfacing extends from Coronation Drive to the Queenstown Gardens.

Meanwhile the Athol Street Carpark resurfacing project is finished and with Carpark operations back to normal from Saturday 18 May.
