A new way to discover Palmerston North’s parks and reserves

My Parx is a free Application (App) that will help you explore Palmerston North’s parks and walkways and is available on both iPhone and Android.

Web administrator Hamish Richardson says the App displays the parks and walkways which are closest to you, and how to get there. It displays the facilities you'll find there and tells you about key features and amenities.

“It’s particularly useful for visitors to town and for those with disabilities who require certain facilities to enjoy the outdoors.”

Hamish Richardson says over 100 City parks and walkways are available via the App including the gardens and bush walks of Victoria Esplanade, Hokowhitu Centennial Lagoon, the Manawatū Riverside Walkway or Ashhurst Domain.

We decided to go with My Parx App because of its popularity with other local authorities such as Wellington City Council, Christchurch City Council, Auckland Botanic Gardens and the City of Sydney who have adopted the App.

“This means that when you’re visiting those areas the App will show you parks and reserves in the city you’re visiting.”
