Community Concert for older residents

HUTT CITY COUNCIL NEWS RELEASE

22 APRIL 2013

Community Concert for older residents

Each year Hutt City Council sponsors and helps organise a free variety concert which appeals to the city’s older residents. This very successful community event is in its 21st year and will take place on Sunday 19 May from 2pm to 4.30pm at the Horticultural Hall.

Popular sportscaster Keith Quinn will act as MC. Performing at the concert will be: The Valley Stompers, pianist Michal Cihelka, Jeanette Mullins School of Dance, Hutt City Musical Theatre, and Wellington City Chorus Women’s Barbershop chorus. As with previous years, the concert will also feature popular sing along favourites.

Mayor Ray Wallace says the Council values the contribution that older residents make to the city.

“This concert is a thank you and opportunity for Council to provide an afternoon of entertainment with something for everyone.

“Family and friends will also be welcome, “says Mayor Wallace.

Although the concert is free, donations will be accepted for the Te Omanga Hospice.
