Hunt is on at Kerikeri Mission Station this Easter

The hunt is on at Kerikeri Misson Station this Easter weekend with a range of fun activities for all the family running from Good Friday through to Easter Monday.

A Rabbit Trail around the gardens is free for everyone to take part in, along with the Bunny Hunt.

“The Bunny Hunt is ideal for the littlies. Children count the number of rabbits and hares in the orchard with all correct answers winning them an Easter treat,” says Liz Bigwood, the Manager of the Kerikeri Misison Station.

“The Rabbit Trail will appeal to everybody, and includes all sorts of stories about rabbits and hares from all over the world – including the weird, wonderful and sometimes true!”

“People can pick up a few facts about these furry lopers and impress their friends and family over the holiday weekend, or save them up for those awkward dinner party moments.”

Real hunters, though, will not be able to go past the Kerikeri Mission Station’s traditional Easter Egg Hunt – a test of observation skills with children asked to spot concealed eggs in the Stone Store, answer a few easy questions, with correct answers going into the draw for the big prize – a mammoth chocolate treat.

“Easter is a wonderful family time, and that’s why we’re running a range of events that children of different ages can enjoy without breaking the family bank,” says Liz.

“The outdoors activities are free, though children taking part in the Easter Egg Hunt in the buildings must be accompanied by an adult who will be charged the standard adult rate – which also means they will be able to see Kemp House too.

“If past Easter events are anything to go by, it will be all go in the Basin this Easter.”
