Public Open Day tomorrow on site of Christchurch's
first 'Earthship'

Members of the public are invited to visit Christchurch's first earthship, being built at Tussock Hill Vineyard, 210 Huntsbury Ave, tomorrow (Saturday) from 10am to 1pm.
World famous American architect, Michael Reynolds, creator of the global earthship phenomenon and the subject of the award winning documentary 'Garbage Warrior' will be on site to answer questions from the public tomorrow.
Attendees at a sold out three day workshop have been constructing the demonstration earthship out of tyres, bottles, cans and conventional building materials, under the supervision of Michael Reynolds. Earthships are the ultimate in environmentally sustainable housing - being made out of rubbish and also being entirely off-grid.
The Open Day is a FREE event and Tussock Hill Vineyard is easy to find as it is the last property at the top of Huntsbury Avenue.
A series of three public seminars will kick-off Friday evening at Riccarton Park Function Centre with an ‘Earthships 101’ introductory lecture with additional evening presentations on technical aspects of his designs and their application in disaster relief scenarios across the globe. For further information on Michael Reynold’s seminars or to purchase tickets visit: www.earthship.com/new-zealand.
