This Sunday on Marae Investigates - 10 March 2013
Kia ora koutou,
This Sunday at 10am on TV One:
Marae Investigates heads to Lake Horowhenua to put a spotlight on property rights in a long standing dispute dividing the community – so why is Māori freehold land being treated like Public land in the eyes of local authorities? Then we head to Rapa Nui (Easter Island) where the Chilean Government and International environmental groups are preparing the way for the largest marine reserve in the world to engulf Rapa Nui - it'll be more than 1 million square kilometres (3 and a half times the size of NZ's landmass), question is why haven’t they consulted Rapa Nui’s tangata whenua we will bring you their story? Also, at the age of 76 photographer Ans Westra will complete a very special journey that began more than half a century ago. Her iconic images are a link to our Māori past, a treasured fingerprint in time. Full Circle, an exhibition, will return to the communities in Ruatorea, Rūātoki, Rotorua, Whanganui and Northland who accepted, who challenged and ultimately influenced her life through the lens we catch-up with her in Rūātoki. Finally we will also bring you all the latest information from Rosedale Park in Auckland where we will be live for the World Softball Championships 2013.
