The Redwoods Free Family Fun-With-Nature Event On Next Sunday
ROTORUA 21.02.13: Rotorua District Council (RDC) is holding a free event at The Redwoods in Whakarewarewa Forest next weekend encouraging local families with young children to be creative, imaginative and have fun with nature.
'Art, Stories, Music ... and other such forest adventures!' is being held on Sunday 3 March from 1.30pm to 4.30pm ‘Under the Sails’ at The Redwoods.
RDC Redwoods Forest & Visitor Centre manager Julianne Wilkinson said the new event replaces the Children and Family Fun Day that has been held in the past.
“Our new event is more low-key and suitable for families with children under the age of 10, focussing on kids using their own creativity and expression.
“There will be lots of nature-based art activities, such as making pine cone bird feeders and creative artworks, along with storytelling, performances, bucket drumming and music.
“Bring the family and a picnic and join the magic with The Travelling Tuataras and other cool characters.”
As 'Art, Stories, Music ... and other such forest adventures!' is being held ‘Under the Sails’ the event will go ahead rain or shine.
