shopper, Helen Wadsworth, has walked away with much more
than her usual groceries after shopping at the town’s
local supermarket, winning a $15,000 Fisher & Paykel
Whiteware package in a nationwide promotion run by New World
and Fonterra Brands.
Winton resident, Helen, is thrilled to be the first of four lucky winners of big prizes on offer in the promotion, which she received on the ‘Find Your Fortune’ game show on TV2 last night.
“I’m absolutely shocked with this once in a lifetime win! It means so much to my husband and I to receive a prize of this scale and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience of being flown up to Auckland to receive my prize. We have just moved into the Winton community for a change of lifestyle so this prize will transform our new home. We have received such a warm welcome from the locals so this just tops it all off,” says Helen.
Helen, and husband Steve, moved to Winton from Tauranga in January, where Steve has started a new role as principal at their two daughters’ local primary school, Winton School. Helen, a registered nurse, has two sisters and parents who all live in the wider Invercargill area.
New World Winton owner-operators, Ashley and Sasha Hunter are also very excited about the win and thrilled that one of their shoppers scooped up one of the prizes.
Ashley says; “We’ve had a blast running this promotion, and we’re thrilled to be giving this fantastic prize to Helen, who is a really deserving winner. This just proves that this can happen to anyone, even in our small tight-knit community.”
The promotion commenced on Monday 4th February and will run until Sunday 3rd March, with customers who use their Fly Buys card and purchase two participating brands from New World stores nationwide, automatically entered into the draw.
Each of the four lucky winners has the opportunity to win the biggest prize of one million dollars cash. Other prizes the winners are guaranteed to walk away with include either the Ford Fiesta car, a $15,000 Fisher & Paykel Whiteware package or $10,000 cash.
