A Busy Week for Faults Crews
ELECTRICITY
Summer seems to have masked itself, with cooler temperatures and high winds. Our response crews have been experiencing a
particularly busy time.
There were seven car v poles and three car v pillars across Auckland last week.
There was an increase in building fires this week, and crews were called to isolate electricity for fire crews in eight
locations across Auckland.
The high winds also saw crews attending eight cases involving lines down, where branches had blown into lines.
Crews also attended seven additional incidents including one in Penrose which turned out to be burning rubbish and not a
burning Vector asset.
GAS TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION
There were seven third party strikes on our network including one in Hamilton, caused by a contractor hitting a gas pipe
as he carried out work.
Faults crews were also called to investigate the smell of gas on the North Shore and in Springfield. In both cases the
sites were made safe and repairs carried out.
