Neighbours asked to keep an eye out over summer
Over the summer months people remaining in the Residential Red Zone are asked to keep an eye out for each other and
neighbouring vacant properties.
Brenden Winder, CERA Residential Red Zone Security Manager, urged residents that if they see anything of concern to call
111 immediately.
“Sometimes people are not sure who to call if they are concerned about activity in the Residential Red Zone and valuable
time can be lost”, said Mr Winder. “We want to remind people, that even though CERA now owns many properties in the
area, it is important that they call 111 straight away if they see anything that doesn’t look right.
Emergency services are best placed to respond quickly,” he said.
“CERA works closely with the Fire Service and Police around safety and security of properties in the residential red
zone, but we are assisted by people alerting us early to potential hazards or suspicious activity in the area,” said Mr
Winder.
