Life Flight transports man injured by Sting Ray
A Life Flight team responded to Riversdale in
the Wairarapa to assist a man who believes he was injured by
a sting ray.
Life Flight responded with a
Wellington Free Ambulance Paramedic onboard the Westpac
Rescue Helicopter.
On our arrival at Riversdale
Beach we found a Wellington man in his 50’s who was
suffering from a large painful wound on his leg. He
believes that he was cut by a sting ray when he was
retrieving a cray pot from the sea.
The man was
being treated by local Surf Life Saving members on our
arrival.
The man was treated by our paramedic and then
transported to Masterton Hospital where he is currently
being assessed and treated.
