What's On At Thistle Hall
On Now
11 - 16 DECEMBER 2012
Kids' Snapshot: a Photographic Exhibition of Faces And Places of Upper Cuba Street by Wellington Children.
OPEN: 10.00am - 6.00pm Tuesday - Sunday.
Thistle Hall has an interest in recording the history of its environment and communities. Our long-term intention is to establish a record of the changing face of our local environment.
Last year we established the 'SNAPSHOT' project and commissioned four photographers to document Upper Cuba Street, a selection of which were produced as postcards.
This year the focus is on the faces as well as the places. An open invite was extended to the children of Wellington to submit up to three digital images each, and from the large number of submissions the Thistle Hall Trust Board has curated an exhibition in keeping with the goals of the ongoing SNAPSHOT project:
• Supporting and inspiring local artists.
• Celebrating the uniqueness and variety of upper Cuba Street and its community.
• Generating interesting documentation of our environment for future generations.
• Raising Thistle Hall's profile in the community and extending/broadening our audience.
