Public transport options to Coca Cola Christmas in the Park
Take the family to the annual Coca Cola Christmas in the Park at the Auckland Domain by train, bus or ferry on Saturday 8 December, 7.30pm.
The popular concert event attracts thousands of people and public transport and roads around the Auckland Domain will be busier than usual.
Some roads around the Domain will be closed and parking restrictions will apply so people should consider public transport to get there. There are a range of transport options and fares; however you should check in advance to see what suits you and make plans to travel early. Check by using the journey planner at www.at.co.nz
If the concert is moved to the rain date of Sunday 9 December some services may be limited.
Travel by train to the concert:
Additional train services including services from Pukekohe will operate to Newmarket and Grafton Stations – both within walking distance of the Auckland Domain.
Grafton Station will be the main station for people travelling to/from the domain on the Western Line and those returning to Britomart, this includes passengers who want to travel on the Eastern Line from Britomart.
People using the Southern Line should use Newmarket Station. Normal fares will apply. Family passes are also available and can be pre-purchased from ticket offices located at Britomart, Newmarket, New Lynn and Papakura.
There are no shuttle buses from Britomart to the concert.
Travel by bus to the concert
• From Auckland City Centre:
Catch an inner LINK service. It runs from the Britomart Train Station and picks up along Ponsonby Rd, Victoria Park and SkyCity. The buses are bright green and on Saturdays these services operate approximately every 15 minutes between 6.30am to 11.00pm.
The closest stops to Auckland Domain will be on Symonds Street near Grafton Bridge or Khyber Pass near Park Road.
• From the North Shore:
Catch a special event bus departing from Albany Station (Platform 2B) approximately every 10 minutes between 4.30pm - 7.00pm, stopping at all Northern Busway Stations to the Domain.
Fares: Cash Only from Northern Busway Stations
Birkenhead Transport will operate services and pick up from Birkenhead, Beach Haven and Glenfield Mall.
• Bus services from the east:
Howick and Eastern Buses will operate services and pick up from Howick, Bucklands Beach, Pakuranga Plaza, Mission Heights and the Botany Town Centre.
Travel to the concert by ferry:
Normal ferry services will depart to and from the downtown ferry terminal. Use the MAXX journey planner to check specific times. Normal fares apply. There are no shuttle buses from Britomart to the Domain.
Rain date – Sunday 9 December
If the event is postponed then normal Sunday timetable for trains will operate with additional limited services where possible.
All special bus services will operate including services from Howick and Eastern, Ritchies and NZ Bus. The same timetable (as per Saturday) will be in place.
Travel to the concert by car:
Park Rd, Carlton Gore Rd and Domain Drive, as well as other roads around Auckland Domain and within it will be closed from 4pm to general traffic.
