One of New Plymouth’s premier heritage properties will be turning it on for Christmas on Saturday (8 December) with a Garden Fair featuring music, dance, story-telling, food, produce and arts and crafts.
The Garden Fair will run from 10am to 1pm at Tupare, on Mangorei Road. Attractions will include:
Festive four-part acapella music performed by the Taranaki Harmony Chorus.
Performances by the Elizabethan Dance Troupe.
International story-teller Lesley Dowding reading work of her own and by others.
Coffee and tasty food options for brunch or lunch
Local produce: jams, honey, seedlings, plants (ornamental, fruit and vegetable), fruit wines, dips, breads, nuts, baking.
Art and craft perfect for Christmas gifts: jewellery, clothing and fibre craft, books, teddy bears, beauty products, gardenware.
Saturday’s Christmas Garden Fair is part of a year-round programme of workshops and other events at Tupare, Pukeiti and Hollard Gardens, the three heritage properties owned and administered by the Taranaki Regional Council on behalf of the people of the region.
