RDUnited Alive & Kicking!
Independent Christchurch radio station RDU98.5FM has its processor pumping with the re-launch of RDUnited this month, and the announcement of the RDUnited ReLaunch Party that comes free to loyal listeners and fans that sign up for membership before the 24th of November 2012.
Kilowatts are burning and antennas are tweaking with anticipation of the RDUnited Launch Party, split between two of Christchurch’s most prevalent venues on the 24th of November. The Dux Live and CBD Bar will play host to a heavyweight lineup of prolific kiwi artists including; Electric Wire Hustle, Tali Live, Bang Bang Eche, Organikismness, Alphabethead, Mr Mime, Teknik, K+Lab, Estere, The Transistors, Bonetraders and more to be announced!
“Now that the wheels are back in motion, we want to give our listeners even more access, more music, more content, more rewards and more involvement with RDU and its culture” say’s Zak Cooper, RDUnited manager. “To do this we are bringing RDUnited back.”
RDUnited, originally formed more than 10 years ago, is back and better than ever offering awesome benefits for members from 'The Chosen Few', a group of Christchurch’s finest establishments, all with an exclusive deal or discount available all year round for RDUnited members. With a range of inviting incentives to reward it’s loyal followers, RDUnited returns at a time where community means more than anything for Christchurch.
“Innovation has been a key part of our operation,” claims station director James Meharry. “With the changing landscape in Christchurch and the difficulties we have all faced in the last 18 months, we have worked from laptops in the hills, programme directors bedrooms and even now, from the back of a horse float to ensure RDU98.5FM continues to break through the blur of commercial radio. We will stop at nothing to continue broadcasting.”
RDU is a local, independent radio station, driven by, and for the community of Christchurch. For 36 years they have brought a varied and diverse broadcast with the ethos of choosing content over commercialism.
“We retain these values, while working as a “not for profit” model with every dollar we make being spent on improving the station, and ultimately what we give our listeners” continues Meharry.
To sign up, visit www.rdu.org.nz and follow the links on the homepage. Membership is only $30 and includes free entry into both venues on the night of the Relaunch Party plus an amazing range of discounts and twelve months worth of exclusive deals.
