Six-year old Queenstown Primary student Jack Kennedy is ‘lucky last’ to hold this $2300 bar of gold before it is buried
at Arthurs Point in preparation for Shotover Jet’s Locals’ Day and mini gold rush on Saturday (November 17).
Lucky Queenstown youngsters aged 18 or younger will have the chance to find the gold bar and other prizes after
successfully completing a treasure hunt and going into a draw to get a ‘Big Red’ ticket as their entry to the
competition.
Just 40 ‘Big Red’ tickets will be drawn out to provide the claim to a section of the beach in the hopes of finding the
gold.
The hunt closes at 1pm on Saturday, November 17 at The Station Building in Queenstown, with the 40 tickets drawn at 3pm
on the beach at the Shotover Jet base.
“It’ll be huge fun to watch the young diggers going for gold in the hope of literally becoming Queenstown’s newest gold
pioneer,” said Shotover Jet General Manager Clark Scott.
“Good luck to all of them!”

Locals will need to present a utilities bill (dated within six months) and photo ID to access special fares. Ticket
