Warehouse raises funds for Wellington Children’s Hospital

“The Warehouse” Wellington Region raises funds for Wellington Children’s Hospital .
The Warehouse, Wellington region today handed over a large donation of $34,492.00 to Wellington Hospitals & Health Foundation, the official charity of Wellington Children’s Hospital.
Funds were raised through the 12 Wellington regional stores - Tory Street, Lyall Bay, Wainuiomata, Petone, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, Porirua, Paraparaumu, Petone plus Blenheim, Nelson & Motueka in the upper South Island.
Various ways in which funds were raised included the sale of the Foundations “HOSPI” mascot toy, customers adding $1 at checkouts and donation boxes in store.
The Warehouse, Regional Manager, Glenn Jenkins said more than 1,000 staff members got behind the campaign to help raise funds. “All staff and customers really got behind the campaign and the support shown was overwhelming. The Warehouse is delighted to have been able to support Wellington Children’s Hospital again this year.” Mr Jenkins said.
Funds will purchase much needed medical and surgical equipment for Wellington Children’s Hospital.
“The community’s support is extremely important to Wellington Children’s Hospital and The Warehouse staff and customers are making a real difference to our Children’s Health and we cannot thank them enough” says Bill Day, Chair of Wellington Hospitals & Health Foundation
